Jordan S. Davis

Founder & Managing Partner

Jordan S. Davis is Managing Partner and Founder of JSD Capital, LLC, the investment advisor to the Radius Special Situations funds, focused on venture-stage and growth equity investments in transformative, technology-driven health and life sciences companies.

Known for his engaged, active investment approach, Jordan leverages 35 years of experience and relationships to add value to his investments, often contributing to “game-changing” results. Jordan also serves as a Managing Partner and Co-founder of Radius Ventures, LLC, a health and life sciences venture capital firm that has invested over $200 million in 40 companies since inception.

Jordan has served on numerous public and private company boards, and currently serves on the board of directors of Pathnostics (leading precision medicine/ molecular Dx company). He is also a board observer of Endogastric Solutions (leading GI focused med-tech company), Onkos Surgical (leading specialty orthopedic device company) and Syft (leading software solutions for hospital supply-chain management). In addition, he also serves on the Board of Advisors of HealthCorps, a non-profit organization engaged in educating youth on nutrition, fitness and mental resilience.

Early in his career, Jordan co-founded Cambridge Heart, Inc., a medical technology company that developed and commercialized a device to non-invasively identify patients at risk of sudden cardiac death, and Voxware, Inc., a pioneer in Voice Over Internet Protocol communication technologies; both companies went from start-up to IPO in three years.

Jordan earned a BA degree in Economics from Binghamton University and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.

Neenah Jain

Finance and Administration

Neenah leads JSD/Radius Special Situations’ Finance and Administration functions. Since 2008, Neenah has also served as CFO for Radius Ventures, LLC, where she has managed the firm’s finance, administrative and accounting operations.

In addition to her role with JSD/Radius Special Situations and Radius Ventures, Neenah is a Partner with Armory Square Ventures, an early-stage tech-focused venture capital firm.  Previously, Neenah was SVP of Finance at IPcelerate, Inc., a start-up tech company and Controller at Capital Analytics, LP, a private equity Fund-of-Funds.  Neenah began her career with PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Neenah graduated from Southern Methodist University with a B.B.A. in Accounting and is a Certified Public Accountant.

 
 

ADVISORY BOARD


The JSD/Radius Special Situations Advisory Board is comprised of world-class leaders from a broad cross-section of the health and life sciences field. The goal of the Advisory Board is to engage with select portfolio companies on a range of relevant initiatives, specific to each company, providing high impact strategic advice and input in key areas such as talent recruitment, business development, operations, health economics/outcomes/reimbursement, clinical study design, big-data/informatics and sales/marketing.

Jordan has long-standing, working relationships with each member of the Advisory Board, having been deeply engaged with each Advisor over the years, in one or more highly successful investments.

 

Thomas F. O'Donnell, Jr., M.D.


Thomas F. O’Donnell, Jr. M.D. is the retired Senior Vascular Surgeon at Tufts Medical Center and the Benjamin Andrews Emeritus Professor and Chair of Surgery at Tufts University School of Medicine. Dr. O’Donnell is also the former President and CEO of Tufts New England Medical Center Hospitals (1996 - 2004). He is currently serving as the Chief Medical Officer of Tactile Systems Technology (NASDAQ: TCMD), a past Radius portfolio company, and is a member of the Scientific Advisory Board of Pathnostics. Dr. O’Donnell has also served on the Advisory Board of Radius Ventures, LLC since 2006.

George Milne Jr., Ph.D.


George M. Milne, Jr., Ph.D. has been Venture Partner of Radius Ventures, LLC since 2003. Previously, Dr. Milne built his career at Pfizer Inc. over 30 years in a variety of management positions, including most recently as Executive Vice President, Pfizer Global Research and Development, President, Worldwide Strategic Sales and Operations Management, President of Central Research with global responsibility for Pfizer's Human and Veterinary Medicine Research and Development, and member of the Pfizer Management Council. Dr. Milne currently serves on the boards of Aurinia Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ: AUPH) and Charles River Laboratories (NASDAQ: CRL) as well as several private companies and charitable organizations. He previously served on the boards of BioStorage Technologies, Aspreva, Athersys, Medimmune, Mettler-Toledo International, and Conor Medsystems.

Scott Garrett


Scott Garrett is currently a Senior Operating Partner at Water Street Healthcare Partners (www.Waterstreet.com). He joined Water Street in 2011 after approximately 35 years leading global healthcare businesses with an emphasis in diagnostics, life sciences and medical products. Prior to joining Water Street, he served as Chairman, President, and CEO of Beckman Coulter, a leading biomedical company, from 2008 to 2011. Mr. Garrett joined Beckman Coulter in 2002 as President, Clinical Diagnostics Division and was promoted in 2003 to President and COO. In January 2005, he became CEO, adding the position of Chairman in 2008. Prior to that, Mr. Garrett served as Vice Chairman and Interim CEO of Kendro Laboratory Products from 1999 to 2001. From 1994 to 1998, he served as Chairman, President and CEO of Dade Behring, a leading diagnostics company. He began his career at American Hospital Supply Corporation and continued after the company was acquired by Baxter International, ultimately serving as CEO of Baxter’s global laboratory business, Baxter Diagnostics. Mr. Garrett currently serves on the boards of companies in which Water Street has an ownership interest, including MarketLab Inc., Pathnostics and Orgentec Diagnostics. He also serves as a director of Hologic, Inc., HCW Biologics, Inc. and Immucor, Inc., and is the founding chairman of the diagnostics industry association, AdvaMedDx. He has also served on the Advisory Board of Radius Ventures, LLC since 2006. Mr. Garrett received a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Valparaiso University, an M.B.A. from Lake Forest Graduate School of Management and completed the Executive Program at Stanford University School of Business.

Arthur Halper


Art Halper is an accomplished executive who has led operations for both entrepreneurial businesses and large corporations in the health informatics and managed care sectors. He also served as a Senior Operations Executive for Cerberus Operations and Advisory Company (COAC), from 2006 to 2014, where he led diligence and portfolio company support activities for numerous acquisitions including the acquisition of Steward Healthcare System LLC, a hospital system and ACO with $2.3 billion in revenue. At Steward, Art served on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee where he helped double the Company’s revenue. Previously, Art joined ActiveHealth Management, Inc., a healthcare information technology company (and past Radius portfolio company) as President, COO and a Director where he turned the company around and drove 55% revenue growth and a 35% EBDITA margin within 4 years; in 2006, ActiveHealth was sold to Aetna for $450 million. Earlier in his career, Art held a variety of executive management positions at Merit Behavioral Care Corporation, serving as President, COO and Director. Under Art’s leadership over a 9-year period, Merit’s revenue and EBITDA grew by 71% and 72%, respectively, and in 1998, the company was sold for more than $800 million dollars to Magellan Health Services. Prior to Merit, Art spent fifteen years in a variety of management positions in private industry and public accounting. He is currently on the Board of Directors of Square Knot Health, a start-up kidney care company and previously served as Chairman of Radius Ventures’ Advisory Board and Chairman of Faherty Brand, LLC. Art is a Certified Public Accountant and has a B.A. in Business Administration from Rutgers University.
